Why do we spend so much time telling Christians to bring people to church, when Jesus tells us to do the exact opposite - bring the Church to people? Matthew 28:19-20
Funny that a friend of mine just did a talk about the meaning of "church." I think its because people want the easy, non-confrontational version of evangelism, (bringing people to a specific building.on Sunday when the pastor suggests so). My friend's point in his talk was that in the bible, the word church meant a community, not a specific building. He said that we cannot have a "church" without reconciliation. I have been thinking about how evangelism is not something done simply by bringing people to church or to some cool event, but it is mainly relational. We cannot "make disciples of all nations" without getting into people's lives, and helping \ confronting some of their issues, and reconciling with them!
